Lejos de ser una barrera para el turismo, la biodiversidad de las playas representa un gran atractivo para los turistas que quieren disfrutar de paisajes y naturaleza impresionantes.<\/strong><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

Hoy es el D\u00eda Mundial del Medio Ambiente y en 2020 el tema es la biodiversidad. Como bien especifica la ONU: \"<\/span>Eventos recientes, como los incendios forestales sin precedentes en Brasil, California y Australia, la invasi\u00f3n de langostas en el Cuerno de \u00c1frica y ahora la pandemia de COVID-19, demuestran la relaci\u00f3n intr\u00ednseca entre los humanos y las redes de vida en las que viven.<\/span><\/i>"<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

El ejemplo de la playa de Carchuna en el sur de Espa\u00f1a demuestra que nos queda mucho por aprender sobre esta relaci\u00f3n y sobre c\u00f3mo podemos mejorarla. Una relaci\u00f3n determinada por decisiones globales, nacionales, locales, y tambi\u00e9n personales que puede afectar al m\u00e1s vulnerable, en este caso, un pajarito.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

El chorlitejo patinegro (<\/span>Charadrius alexandrinus<\/span><\/i>) es un ave que pasa desapercibida, no s\u00f3lo porque no la vemos cuando esconde su nido entre la vegetaci\u00f3n y las dunas de la playa, sino tambi\u00e9n porque no vemos c\u00f3mo su poblaci\u00f3n desaparece. Y es que Carchuna es la \u00fanica playa de la provincia de Granada y una de las pocas del Mediterr\u00e1neo, donde a\u00fan logra reproducirse.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>

El h\u00e1bitat del chorlito ha sido alterado o definitivamente perdido en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas en muchas playas por construcciones permanentes o instalaciones temporales. En Carchuna, entre los invernaderos, bares, hoteles, palmeras y campos deportivos, se han conservado algunas \u00faltimas hect\u00e1reas donde 8-9 pares pueden poner sus huevos. Y cada a\u00f1o se pierden algunas garras y polluelos debido a la maquinaria de limpieza mecanizada o debido a las molestias causadas por los usuarios de la playa. \u00a1Todo esto resulta de la falta de medidas de protecci\u00f3n simples que sean perfectamente compatibles con el acceso de los visitantes a la playa!<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>

Es incre\u00edble que en el a\u00f1o 2020 la administraci\u00f3n local vea a la biodiversidad como una amenaza para el turismo. \u00bfCada metro cuadrado de la playa tiene que ser \u201climpiado\u201d con maquinaria pesada, desbrozado y aprovechado? \u00bfCu\u00e1l ser\u00eda el problema si en 4 kil\u00f3metros de playa se dejan zonas naturales donde las sombrillas ocupan solamente la parte m\u00e1s cercana al mar y los turistas pasan por pasarelas habilitadas?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/strong><\/p>

La buena noticia es que en la provincia de Granada hay amantes de la naturaleza que realizan un censo del chorlitejo, detectan los factores que lo amenazan y proponen medidas para su conservaci\u00f3n. Y gracias a estas personas el m\u00e1s vulnerable de los vulnerables tiene oportunidad de sobrevivir.<\/span><\/p>

\"\"<\/p>

\u00bfQu\u00e9 podemos hacer para salvar a las aves de la playa?<\/b><\/p>

  1. Respete las \u00e1reas marcadas y la vegetaci\u00f3n natural de las dunas para evitar pisar nidos y polluelos.<\/span><\/li>
  2. Acceder a la playa solo a pie.<\/span><\/li>
  3. Acceder a la playa solo por pasarelas habilitadas o, a falta de estas, por caminos utilizados regularmente.<\/span><\/li>
  4. No recoger plantas ni animales silvestres.<\/span><\/li>
  5. Llevar el perro atado, sobre todo en \u00e9poca de cr\u00eda desde mediados de febrero hasta mediados de agosto.<\/span><\/li>
  6. No hacer fiestas, reuniones de muchas personas, fogatas en la \u00e9poca de cr\u00eda en playas naturales. Uno de los momentos m\u00e1s cr\u00edticos para los chorlitejos es la noche de San Juan a finales de junio cuando se hacen miles de fogatas en las playas espa\u00f1olas y los chorlitejos tienen huevos.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    \u00bfQu\u00e9 exigir a los ayuntamientos y gestores de las playas?<\/b><\/p>

    1. Definir zonas en la playa para la flora y fauna sensible y separarlas de las zonas m\u00e1s transitadas usando postes de madera y cuerdas.<\/span><\/li>
    2. Informar a los turistas mediante carteles, folletos informativos y personal especializado.<\/span><\/li>
    3. No utilizar maquinaria pesada en las zonas de los nidos, as\u00ed como en horas de escasa luminosidad.<\/span><\/li>
    4. No limpie la vegetaci\u00f3n natural durante la temporada de reproducci\u00f3n (15 de febrero al 15 de agosto) para evitar destruir nidos y matar polluelos.<\/span><\/li>
    5. No planificar construcciones permanentes e instalaciones temporales en zonas para la fauna y flora sensible, dunas, etc.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>
